The smart home appliance (residential) industry is one of the top ten emerging industries in our province. In recent years, our province has adhered to high-level promotion, provincial and municipal coordination, and precise planning, focusing on the goal of "improving quality, expanding quantity, and increasing efficiency" in the smart home appliance (residential) industry. From January to September this year, the household appliance industry in the province achieved a revenue of 138.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%, ranking fifth in the country, third in the Yangtze River Delta, and first in the central region. Anhui has become one of the most important home appliance industry bases in the world.

Projects are the hard support for industrial development. Our province has formulated implementation plans for the "14th Five Year Plan" for industrial development, dual recruitment and dual attraction, and external attraction. In 2022, 321 new projects worth over 100 million yuan will be added, and a number of major projects such as Philips Intelligent Air Conditioning, Gree Intelligent Industrial Park, Skyworth Industrial Park, Midea East China R&D Center, TCL Innovation Manufacturing Center, and Shiyuan Intelligent Terminal R&D Center will be implemented. Our province continues to optimize the industrial layout system, and on the basis of the main body of "one body, two wings" in Hefei, Wuhu, and Chuzhou, we extend and promote the flowering of multiple areas in Ma'anshan, Lu'an, Bengbu, Fuyang, Xuancheng, Suzhou, and other areas, forming an industrial layout that complements each other's advantages and develops in a staggered manner.

In terms of improving the level of digital intelligence in household appliances, our province continues to promote consumption upgrading, technology upgrading, and model upgrading, guiding enterprises to actively apply the "5G+Industrial Internet" to promote digital transformation and intelligent transformation. Hefei Midea washing machine and Haier Hefei factory have been selected as global "lighthouse factories".

As of now, the home appliance industry in the province has 41 national and provincial enterprise technology centers, 21 national and provincial industrial design centers, 13 national and provincial intelligent factories, over 230 intelligent home appliance (residential) products, and nearly 900 new home appliance products.

Focus on developing small home appliance products

In order to "supplement" the shortcomings of the small home appliance industry, our province has formulated the "Anhui Province Small Home Appliance" One Chain, One Policy "Implementation Plan since the beginning of this year.
